Formula for Achieving Happiness

Just like working with any other mathematical formula, one primarily must be acutely aware of all the existing components that make up the formula itself. Thus happiness can also be considered as a product of some distinct elements combined.

Below are just 3 of the many components that make up the journey to living a happy and a healthy life.

Identify What makes You Happy

To achieve pure blissfulness, we must initially learn to be able to personally distinguish what those elements are, rather than abide by a universally set definition. The flaw with what has been set as the definition of the word ‘Happiness’ in the 21st century contains a majority of components that are purely materialistic in nature.

We as humans have somehow paved the way to the destruction of our happiness by making our lives revolve around increasing our worldly gains. We could also to some extent blame product marketing for further promoting this trend by their purely materialistic product punchline. However, to look after our next generation, it is of the essence to ensure that such worldly teachings must be reduced to the minimum.

Eliminate Those from your Life that Do Not Bring Positivity

Circumstances differ from person to person. Hence the famous saying “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure” could not fit more perfectly in this context. Yet the only universal element that isn’t prone to change involves the elimination of any negativity from your life even if it is in the form of a person.

Similar to the concept of yawns, I think that Negativity can be just as contagious especially the blame-game virus. The blame-game virus can be defined as the type of negativity by which one fails to hold themselves responsible for their turbulences and failures in life.

Somehow, with the utmost determination they can hold others accountable through the subtle use of emotional blackmailing.

The remedy for successfully overcoming it, however, pertains to concentrating on the right things in life regardless of how tiny/scarce they may be and being grateful for them in contrast to the typical concept of whining and crying.

Thus association with happy people or those individuals that aid in your development or growth is what you truly need.

Forgive & Forget

Fretting over past mistakes and even holding grudges in your heart does more damage than good. Blaming one’s discontent and dissatisfaction with life will only result in triggering more suffering until the past is forgiven, whether you were the product of the damage of another individual. In life, it is our own option whether we let our past haunt us, or we let go and look forward to what is to come. We do learn, only after we make and realize our mistakes.

Those aspiring to attain happiness need to acknowledge that life itself is a combination of the little things that give us joy, and so happiness comes from within a person and by choice, rather than something that is achieved by chance.
